Business SMS Platform

Free online SMS for verifications, OTPs, transactional alerts, and opted-in customer notifications. Send from any browser with no signup, no app, no per-message fee.

Use cases for business SMS

FreeBulkSMSOnline supports the high-value, low-volume business messaging scenarios where a full Twilio or Plivo account would be overkill:

OTP & verification codes

Send one-time passwords and account verification codes for low-volume sign-up flows, password resets, internal tools, and admin actions. Verified sender numbers improve recipient trust and reduce filtering by carrier spam systems.

Transactional notifications

Order confirmations, appointment reminders, shipping updates, payment receipts, and similar transactional content. Recipients have an inherent expectation of these messages because they directly initiated the transaction.

Customer alerts & opt-in updates

Send updates to customers who have explicitly opted in to receive SMS communication from your business. The platform's opt-out enforcement ensures you remain compliant with TCPA, GDPR, PECR, and CASL.

Internal team communication

Reach on-call engineers, alert team members about incidents, send pager-style notifications when paid alerting tools are unavailable. The free tier covers most low-volume internal use cases.

Compliance & regulatory framework

SMS messaging is regulated in most jurisdictions. The platform enforces the following at the server level so you don't have to build it yourself:

United States — TCPA & CTIA

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA short code monitoring guidelines require prior express written consent for marketing SMS. FreeBulkSMSOnline is intended for transactional, verification, and explicitly opted-in messaging only. The platform's opt-out page and server-side do-not-send list provide compliance with the TCPA's revocation requirements.

European Union & UK — GDPR / PECR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require explicit opt-in consent and a clear opt-out mechanism for any direct marketing SMS. The platform's opt-out enforcement and minimal data retention align with GDPR principles of data minimization and recipient control.

Canada — CASL

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation requires express or implied consent for commercial electronic messages. The platform's transactional-first design and opt-out enforcement align with CASL's consent and unsubscribe requirements.

Australia — Spam Act 2003

Australia's Spam Act requires consent and a functional unsubscribe facility for commercial electronic messages. The platform's opt-out page satisfies the unsubscribe facility requirement.

Other jurisdictions

Most countries have similar regulations. Use the platform for transactional messages or messages where you have documented recipient consent — the same principle applies almost universally.

Volume & rate limits

The free tier is designed for low-to-medium volume use, not for marketing blasts. Limits scale based on verification status:

  • Unverified (free, no signup): Small daily allowance per IP address. Suitable for occasional verification codes, ad-hoc transactional messages, and individual notifications.
  • Verified sender number: Higher daily allowance, plus your verified number is recognized as the sender ID by recipients. Suitable for low-volume business OTP, transactional, and opt-in customer messaging.
  • Higher-volume needs: If you need sustained high-throughput messaging (thousands per day), a paid SMS provider like Twilio, Plivo, or Vonage is appropriate. FreeBulkSMSOnline is not a replacement for paid SMS APIs at high volume.

Rate limits are enforced server-side per IP, per verified sender, and per recipient. Bursts beyond the limit are rejected with a clear error.

Business SMS FAQ

Is FreeBulkSMSOnline suitable for business use?

Yes — for transactional, verification, and explicitly opted-in customer messaging at low-to-medium volume. Verify your sender number to unlock higher daily limits and use your verified number as the recognizable sender ID.

Does the platform handle compliance?

Yes. Built-in features: server-side opt-out enforcement (recipients can unsubscribe permanently), spam and fraud filtering, recipient consent expectations, and rate limiting. You're still responsible for ensuring you have appropriate consent before sending — the platform enforces the technical guarantees.

Can I send OTP and verification codes?

Yes — this is a primary supported use case. Verified senders get higher daily limits suitable for low-to-mid-volume verification flows. For very high-throughput verification (10,000+ codes per day), a paid provider may be more appropriate.

How does this compare to Twilio, Plivo, or Vonage?

Paid providers charge per-message fees ($0.0075 to $0.05 per SMS in most markets), require account setup, billing, KYC verification, and dedicated number provisioning. FreeBulkSMSOnline is free, requires no signup for basic use, and is designed for low-volume scenarios where paid setup overhead exceeds the value. It is not a replacement for paid APIs at production scale.

Is there an API?

The browser-based form is the primary interface today. For programmatic use, contact us through the platform — programmatic API access for verified business users may be available depending on use case and volume.

What happens if I send spam?

The server-side spam filter detects common spam patterns (financial scams, phishing, fake notifications, harassment) and blocks the message. Repeat offenders are IP-banned and sender-banned automatically. The platform is intended for legitimate transactional, verification, and consented messaging only.

How do recipients opt out?

Recipients can visit the opt-out page and submit their phone number. Their number is added to a permanent platform-wide do-not-send list immediately. Any future send attempt to that number is blocked at the server level.
